Today was my first day of the spring semester. I woke up around 6, ate breakfast and got ready. Lance picked me up as we headed to get Bee at her house for carpool. I told them how the day before Matt and I ordered a McGangBang at the McDonald's and estudillo and the lady just laughed and asked me if I were one of the girls who had asked for one a couple days back. It was funny because it so happens to be that those two girls that the cashier mentioned was Bee and Nel, haha. What a coincidence. AND we didn't even talk about it amongst ourselves in all honesty. We took the Bay Bridge and there was no traffic at all whatsoever with all the cars flowing smoothly. Nearing the campus, we came across an accident and saw that there was a guy lying on the floor with paramedics surrounding him. It saddened and shocked me for a quick second as a flashback occurred in my mind at that moment. Accidents really scare me especially after having been in one last April in the Philippines. My first class began at 9 and to my surprise it was in one of the theater halls where the capacity of the room holds 300. It was my first taste of an actually college class and it was rather overwhelming at the time. I have Trix, Lance and Dennis in my class though, so it's not that bad as it seems. I just have to sit really close or else I wouldn't pay attention if I were anywhere else in that theater. My second class of the day was English. It was pretty funny as Lance and I walked in. There was only one person in the class besides us two, and with the class about to start at 11, the classroom was practically empty. I figured that people are too scared to either open the door or walk into the classroom so I got up and opened the door. Like a pack of dogs they all came in with my simple gesture, and I didn't even have to say a single word. I just opened the door. The teacher didn't excite me, I was bored listening to her monotone even when she tried putting some emotion into what she was conveying. She's pretty satirical though and tries to crack jokes up every now and then with her bluntness. She talked about assignments and described how most of our writing is going to be about simple day-to-day objects and write about it not in context, but instead how the item could be used metaphorically to solve a much greater problem. She used a kleenex for example. She stated the obvious as to how it would be an aid to a runny nose. Then she went outside of the box and said that a tissue could possibly be a reference to the diversity of the people and the building of community and related that to the different layers of a tissue bounded together to form one kleenex. I thought that was pretty cool. My third class was the most hilarious not because of my teacher who right off the bat you could tell he's gay (that's mean btw), but because he chuckles after every little thing he says and had a ball of toliet paper dragging along his loafers for everyone to take notice. Moreover, he also couldn't pronounce this one person's name correctly. As he was taking attendance he called out a person by the name of "Mew" and he said it exactly the way it is read while having some difficulties. The student finally corrected him and said, "No, it's moo!". With me being at the upmost front, closest to the teacher and Bianca to my right, I tried holding in my laughter but it was so hard when I knew for a fact I couldn't fully laugh out loud, making it even harder to hold in, and I also couldn't help but think of cows as well. That's when I lost it, I was giggling tyring to hide every evidence of my rudeness on the account of my laughter until I saw Bee laughing too. Me and Bee are always the ones having to catch really funny moments during bad timing. We got out 40 minutes early. Lance, Bee and I drove back to San Leandro to go to the 99 cent store so Bee could buy a lint roller. We then headed to the Dimsum place and ate there before our inventory at Nordstroms that begins at 4.
We get to Nordstoms a bit early and clock in at 3:40. Having no experience with a handheld scanner whatsoever, we were taught how to use those things before going on the floor to begin our inventory on the stock. I was assigned to the woman's department, particularly the bags. I was happy because I got to look at bags from Michael Kors, L.A.M.B., Harajuku and so on and so forth. I began my scanning, and I admit, I was confused as ever and needed assistance every now and then until I got the hang of it. Before you know it I was finishing about 2 racks in 20 mintues. When I got to the racks with more bags hanging on them, 's I began to get extremely tired and my sense of counting was so off. I was getting frustrated as well because I would count, and then miscount, or the bags had no bar code for me to scan, or either the bags just kept on falling off. It was then that I was approached by some worker who overlooked that section asking me why I had scanned 3 bags when there were 4 on the rack. I admit, I forgot one, but shit they blended in being that they were all the same color. That was difficult. After 3 hours we were done. I wanted to do more because the pay rate is $10.50 an hour but they stopped all the inventory buddies because inventory was already done by 86% and the employees will just finish the rest. That was my first taste of an actual job since I have no previous experience. We clocked out at 7:30 and having no ride home, Nel, Bee and I went with Mia to drop Nel home. We decided to all go down and visit her sister's little cute baby. My dad then picked me up there. When I got home my mom told me that the book that I have been waiting for that I had ordered online came in the mail today. I open the package and I was disappointed to find that my book is not the one I wanted, let alone the right book for that matter. This is the second time that this has happened. I purchased the book on ebay, and I don't think I will ever buy a book online again. Who knows if I'll get my money back. I'm so disappointed, that was a let down.
